The Car of Your Dreams In a Pair of Socks?

Every week, your friends at Gildshire cover the world of cars and/or motorcycles. It’s how we stay on top of the driverless movement, the electric car revolution, and the best in new bike design. Today, we feature socks. Why would we do such a thing? Because there is a new line of stockinged footwear out that commemorate some of the great cars down through history. Oh, and we want a pair.

These nifty piggy warmers are from Heel Tread, which is a company specializing in socks. Indeed, that’s all they do.

Sure, you could go into your closest big box and buy something in a six-pack from Hanes. If you look hard enough, you may find a pair with an automaker’s logo emblazoned on them. But, they won’t be Heel Tread socks, and that makes all the difference. Gildshire loves these socks because they’re incredibly creative with the design connections to various carmakers and iconic cars. The socks that celebrate (and shouldn’t all socks celebrate something, in a perfect world?) the Porsche 911, the Ford GT40, and the BMW M3 nailed them! Besides those, doesn’t everyone need plaid ones that perfectly match the interior of a Volkswagen Golf GTI?

Is this a silly thing? Perhaps, but you have to admit that it is also pretty awesome!

The Mustang Eleanor (from Gone in 60 Seconds) ones look great, but we’re left wondering “Where are the ’71 Chevy Nova socks? Maybe, in the next product run.

They are a cotton blend (but mostly cotton, as good socks should be) and constructed in a style Heel Tread calls “seamless knitting.” By all accounts, they are insanely comfortable.
