Skating is making a comeback as a major spectator sport, and we at Gildshire Magazines will start to cover skating in our Sports Magazine. If you won’t be able to make it to Long Beach, we’ll bring you full coverage but if you are in the greater Southern California area, come on down and experience all the action live.
We expect some surprises and impressive tricks as past competitions have never disappointed. As a first timer at a skating event, what I am looking forward to the most is seeing truly challenging tricks, executed effortlessly. From watching skating videos, I’ve noticed that different skaters have different styles, so I’ll be watching for style and tricks.

Skating competitions are scored on tricks and their difficulty, but style is important in winning the hearts of the crowd. Street skating has many challenges but these top skateboarders will be owning that pavement and gliding into each tick effortlessly, winning over their fans and delighting the crowds. In skating sometimes it is not only about winning competitions but more about showcasing your skill to the world. Many skaters will be at the Dew Tour to make an impression, create memorable moments and catch the hearts of fans and the eyes of the sponsors.

The best part of skating for me is the opportunity for great photography, so that is what I am most excited about at Long Beach. As the skaters will continuously strive to defy gravity with some extraordinary tricks, photographers will try to capture every high flying moment. We won’t miss a beat! So if photography is your thing, come on down to Long Beach and capture every breath taking moment.
The Long Beach Dew Tour is free for spectators, so if you are in the Los Angeles, Orange County or San Diego area, it will be worth the drive for a few days of exhilarating skateboarding and fun in the sun. On Saturday night the Dew Tour is hosting a free concert starting at 7pm, download the Dew Tour app to reserve your ticket.
So if you are feeling summer is getting a little too hot, come down to this ‘cool’ event!
