If you’re like me, you’re always looking for ways to make some extra cash. It’s not another job, I already have one of those, so it needs to be something relatively easy to do and something that people want. Here are some creative, sometimes odd services that are in demand:
● Walk dogs
Who doesn’t love dogs? Post an ad on a site like Craigslist and walk dogs for people who are at work, are recovering from an illness or injury, and so on. You can also check with your local shelters and kennels to see if they’re willing to pay someone to walk their dogs.
● Search for inappropriate images
One odd way people are making money is by joining CrowdFlower, a company that helps online businesses and websites keep their pages squeaky-clean. With sites that have content that is user-generated, they need people (like you!) to make sure no pornography pops up.
Look up websites for people looking for house-sitters. Prove that you aren’t a weirdo and that you’re reliable, and you get to stay in someone’s house while they’re on vacation. You might have to do some other jobs, like get their mail, mow the lawn, etc. If you stay local, it’s a great way to make money without interfering with the rest of your life.
● Join a focus group
For a few hour’s work, you can make anywhere from $50-$500. A focus group might be about a specific product, invention, or other idea someone has, and they want to see what the public has to say.
● Sell plasma/your hair
You can make $15-$20 per plasma donation, and depending on who is buying, a lot more from selling your hair. If your hair is super healthy, long, and never been dyed or chemically-treated, it can go for thousands on sites like HairTrader.com. Buyers are often companies that use the hair for wigs and extensions.
Got a lot of junk around your house? Are you a big fan of garage sales? One way to make extra money is to sell stuff you don’t want, and buy stuff for cheap from other people and turn it around for more on Ebay. Always calculate price and shipping, so you’re sure you’re going to make a profit.
