Beauty treatments can be really expensive that’s why these days most of us prefer DYI natural beauty treatments. Whether it’s salon-quality shampoo or acne treatment creams, you usually pay a lot more than what you get out of the products, and the strong chemicals can even make the issues worse. Luckily, you can make your own, 100% natural treatments using inexpensive items you probably already have in your home!
Easy DIY Natural Beauty Treatments
Issue: Acne
Solution: Honey-and-cinnamon mask
For persistent acne, mix 2 tablespoons of honey with 1 teaspoon cinnamon. Rinse your face and dry before applying the honey-cinnamon mask. Leave on for about 10-15 minutes before rinsing well. These ingredients fight the bacteria that causes acne.
DIY Natural Beauty Treatments for Healthy Hair
Issue: Dry hair
Solutions: Apple cider vinegar/Eggs-and-olive oil
To use apple cider vinegar to treat dry hair, simply massage some into your scalp with a cotton ball and rinse after 5-10 minutes.
If you want to use eggs, mix two eggs with the yolk in about ½ cup olive oil. Run it through your hair like you would conditioner and then cover your head with a shower cap for an hour. Rinse well.
Issue: Acne scars
Solution: Pulped tomato
For scars from past acne, mash up some tomato until it gets pulpy. Apply on your (clean) face and leave it on for 15-20 minutes. The tomato will help fade dark scars and fight excess oil.
Other common household ingredients that can be used in your health-and-beauty regimen include baking soda (natural teeth whitener), coconut oil (skin and hair moisturizer), Greek yogurt (moisturizer for sensitive skin), and brown sugar (foot scrub).
Before applying any of these DIY treatments, always put a bit on your skin and wait to see if you have any negative reactions. Just because something is natural doesn’t mean it will work for you. You should also be careful with particularly strong ingredients like lemon or baking soda; when in doubt, dilute any mixtures you make with these types of items with coconut or olive oil.
And don’t forget to drink water! Water is the simplest and best way you can naturally improve everything about your body, from your hair, to your skin, to your overall health.
