The Mid Summer Classic is slowly approaching as the 2015 Major League Baseball season approaches July. The question we have as we look at the updated All-Star voting results for the American League is based on the fact that the Kansas City Royals have eight of the nine starters with the lone exception being Mike Trout.
From a fans perspective we all want to be able to vote for who we think should really deserve a spot on the roster. On the flip side of that is the fact that many fans have abused their power to vote creating multiple email addresses as to vote the 35 limits for each of those accounts.
Here is what the starting roster would look like if the AL All-Star Voting wrapped up today.
Now from our view the only names they got right on this list is Mike Trout and Lorenzo Cain. Now this is what our AL All-Star starting roster would look like if we had it our way.
First Base – Miguel Cabrera: Honestly, Hosmer isn’t even in our top five options for first base. The Detroit Tigers first baseman is hitting .345 with 13 doubles, 15 home runs and 51 runs batted in.
Second Base – Jason Kipnis: Kipnis would get the slight edge over Dustin Pedroia and Jose Altuve. Kipnis is hitting .333 with 19 doubles, four triples, five home runs and 28 runs batted in.
Third Base – Josh Donaldson: Can’t figure out why anyone would put Moustakas over the Toronto Blue Jays third baseman. Donaldson is hitting .305 with 17 home runs and 45 runs batted in.
Short Stop – Xander Bogaerts: The Boston Red Sox short stop is hitting .288 with nine doubles, three triples, three home runs and 26 runs batted in.
