Hyundai Shopper Assurance intends to help this guy out.
Let’s face it, the way we buy cars is inefficient at best and loathsome at worst. No other purchase in our lives involves getting emotionally ready for the onslaught, followed by a pounding headache. The result is more relief than satisfaction. Oh, you like your new car, but in the back of your mind is the nagging voice saying, “Did you get taken to the cleaners?” Well, it seems as if help may be on the way, provided by none other than the carmaking industry itself. Hyundai offers Hyundai Shopper Assurance, a car-buying experience without the whole dealership nonsense. Gildshire was more than intrigued.
Called, Hyundai Shopper Assurance, the new program allows the customer to do most of the purchasing process, and then some, online.
The plan promises four things: 1. Transparent pricing, 2. Flexible test drives. 3. Streamlined purchasing. 4, A three-day money back guarantee.
Transparent pricing will, according to Hyundai, eliminate the need to search for a third-party dealer website such as TrueCar or Autotrader. Participating dealers’ websites will supposedly have online inventories that reflect the fair market price of a vehicle. That would be the MSRP minus incentives and dealer discounts. Hyundai hopes, therefore, that this will reduce confusion with other advertised incentives and negotiation at the dealership.
“So that is one frappuccino and a Hyundai to test drive.”
Potential customers won’t have to leave home to test-drive a new Hyundai. Using the Hyundai Drive app, test spins schedule for a certain time and location. Think about that. Do you want to test drive an Elantra? Hyundai offers to bring it to the nearest Starbucks.
The three-day money back policy exceeds industry standards by one day. Hyundai hopes the extra day allays the fears that buyers may experience in trying the new way of doing things.
It isn’t a free car, but it is pretty cool. Actually, it is better than pretty cool. Do you remember how long you were at the dealership the last time you bought a car? Your oldest child started and finished high school in the time it took to buy one car. With Hyundai Shopper Assurance, most of the endless paperwork is complete before the buyer sets foot in the dealership. Customers apply for financing, obtain credit approval, value their trade-in, and calculate their monthly payment… all from the comfort of their couch.
All of this leaves us with just one question. With Hyundai Shopper Assurance, how will the salesperson tell you what a hard bargain you’re driving?
