How to build a better life in 2020? There are certain areas of your life that you probably need to work on for a better life. No one is perfect. Here, we are going to share a few pointers on important areas of your life and how to improve your communication, work relations, relationships, money handling, and more.
Is communication your issue? Do people tend to say that you talk too much? You don’t listen? Here is useful advice. In a conversation with another person, talk 20 to 40 % of the time. Your partner will feel better about the outcome and about you as a person. From the other side, you will learn more. When we listen, we learn. When we talk, we only repeat what we already believe in.
Do you talk too little and relationships are your issue? If you are not open to talking about yourself, or if you feel vulnerable and afraid to be judged if you talk, leave the conversation. Changing someone’s personality who is judgmental is harder than changing your own, and we all know how hard it is to change yourself. Don’t ever try to fix people, that’s a game that you will lose.
From the other side, hang with people who are doing a little bit better than you. Those who are doing way better than you can make you feel bad about yourself more than push you to improve.

Work? When it comes to work, follow your passion. Ask yourself, what do you want to do in life? If your job is not fulfilling, it’s time to leave. Well, you are not going to leave without plan B, but that plan B should become your main occupation, not stressing out about a job that you don’t even like. Of course, we all need the money and that’s probably the main reason why you are holding a job right now. However, no matter how old we are let’s not forget about our dreams and passions and start to pursue them. It’s never too late.
When we are already talking about money, ask yourself how are you handling money? That can be an uncomfortable question for many since we tend to waste money. Ask yourself are you spending too much on buying status.
When we are buying a status that we can’t afford, we are spending more than we have. With money more than with anything else, planning is the key. What do you want in 2020? An exotic trip? Another useful experience? To start a business? For all these things you need to plan right now (and sticking to the plan is a crucial part of any good money decision).
When things are not going as we planned, we feel it emotionally. Our emotions often get out of control.
We can’t and shouldn’t control our emotions in every given moment. We are humans, not robots but there is a good part of our negative emotions that needs to be checked. You are more likely to be more productive and have less issues with others in your life if you decide to put your emotions under control. For example, low self-esteem is a long-term, unchecked emotion that was never questioned but taken for granted and became a habit. Low self-esteem is just irrational and negative self-assessment.
And don’t forget to learn something from the past year and bring that knowledge in 2020.
Don’t procrastinate, don’t wait for 2020 to get under way, start working on yourself now. Each aspect of your life matters and it’s all closely connected. How you communicate at work or in a relationship? How you feel when you waste money and how you feel when you are not fulfilled by your job? Be connected with yourself and get happy in 2020.
